A tasteful blend of soulful jazz and playful blues infused with a rhythmic intensity. Barb is a Madison Area Music Award Winner - Best Instrumentalist of the Year!

With her combination of technical skills and soulful phrasing, Barb Cheron has been entertaining audiences for many years. Her eclectic style has led her to playing with many talented mucicians throughout the years. Barb is also an accomplished band leader and her groups range from duo to 9-piece band with horns. Her CD, Running Free, featuring Nicky Sund and Ben Johnson is now available through CD Baby. She is also in the process of completing her second CD, a project with fellow jazz guitarist Tom Heaney.

Trained at the Milwaukee Conservatory of Music, Barb also studied with renowned jazz guitarists Roger Brotherhood, Cliff Frederiksen and Don Linke. In addition, she studied classical guitar with Professor Javier Calderon from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
